School Partnerships and Initiatives

Leinster Rugby

We have a partnership with Leinster Rugby. All pupils will learn how to play rugby in weekly classes with a trained coach for a six week block.

All our pupils participate in a block of swimming lessons subsidised by the school. The lessons take place in Mespil Swimming Pool, Mespil House Flats, 4 Sussex Rd, Dublin, D04 H9T0.

Speech and Drama

Our excellent Speech and Drama teacher, Clare, teaches every class weekly. All pupils get the opportunity to perform at our Christmas concerts every year.  These shows are a wonderful show case of our pupils’ talents and a big occasion for our school community.

Active School Flag

In 2017 we achieved our Active School Flag and continue to put into practice the wonderful activities we initiated during this process.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths. Their mission is to inspire children to love STEAM subjects for the children in 5th & 6th Class by providing an innovative, fun, hands-on educational programmes in these subject areas, using a co-teaching model i.e. real-life STEAM experts from industry and academia work with the primary school teacher, and with specially designed tools & content to deliver the programme and inspire the kids.

Olympic Gold Medal winner Michael Currath works with the children from 3rd-6th class to develop their boxing skills, co-ordination and overall fitness.

Fighting Words

Fighting Words is a writing workshop and each student leaves it as a published author! At the end of each workshop, the students receive a printed and illustrated copy of their story as a keepsake for them to share with friends and family.

Each group story is also published on the Fighting Words website for children to show off their incredible, imaginative writing to the world!
