This week was a particularly busy one in Rang Maher! This year, we are making a huge effort to get out in the school garden every week for at least one lesson. So far, we have taken Maths, Art, Science and Geography outdoors this year. We make good use of the wonderful outdoor classroom and school garden to do this.
This week, we were joined by Ciara from Forest Schools Ireland for our outdoor learning lesson. She took 10 children at a time out to the school garden and taught them in the ways of Forest Schools. We played games, chopped branches with saws, drilled wood disc and so much more! Everyone was very free to choose the activities they liked best. Some people chose to climb the tightropes. Others decided to relax in the hammocks. The weather was glorious too! A huge thank you to Ciara and Heritage in Schools for funding the visit. Everyone in Rang Maher had a great time learning outdoors!
