It’s going to be a busy month so here are some reminders of what’s coming up. Please click here for a Word version of this newsletter.

Afternoon Club
Our Afternoon Club is now finished for this school year. Well done to all of the children (and of course, the teachers!) who took such a full and active part and we look forward to starting up again in the new school year.

Active Schools Week: June 5th – 8th
We have a lots of events planned! To ensure that all children can take part in everything as comfortably as possible, they are asked to wear their tracksuits and runners all of that week from Tuesday – Friday. Thank you!

Reminder: Book Rental Scheme Fees
Book Rental Scheme fees for the coming school year are due in full by Wednesday, June 6th. This fee covers all books, photocopying, art materials and other class resources for the year. You can pay this fee directly to our school secretary, Méabh Barron.

In accordance with our Book Rental Scheme Policy, if you do not pay these fees, we will not be able to order books or materials for your child in time for the first day of the new school year.

This fee has stayed the same for almost 20 years so we are asking all families to pay this in time for us to buy the books, materials and resources for all children in time for August 30th.

The list of other supplies (pencils, copies, etc.) needed for the new school year will, as usual, be included with your child’s end-of-year report.

Grant’s Uniform Pop-Up Shop Day
Also, on Wednesday, June 6th, Grant’s Uniforms will be in our school. If you need to buy new jumpers/cardigans, tracksuits or ties, they will in the Parents Room from first thing in the morning.

Otherwise, you can visit their shop at 7-8 Manor Street in Dublin 7 – they are open Mon-Fri 9:30 – 5:30. You can also call them on (01) 6791626 to order what you need and they will courier it to you.

Sports Day
The highlight of Active School Week is our annual Sports Day. This will take place as usual in Merrion Square on Thursday, June 7th. We will be there from 11am and all families and friends are welcome.

• Please make sure your child has a spoon and a potato (not super-glued together, please…) and something for the three-legged race.
• If the weather is warm, your child can wear shorts instead of tracksuit bottoms with the usual white polo t-shirt.
• Glanmore Foods are generously providing treats for the children. The children will also have their regular school lunch that day.
• The Parents Association are kindly organising some light refreshments for the grown-ups.
• Please help us keep to Merrion Square clean. We will have plenty of black sack bins so please make sure you put all your rubbish in them.

Our end-of-year Prizegiving takes place in the halla on Thursday, June 28th. We will also be bidding a fond farewell to our wonderful 6th class children as they graduate from primary school.

As our school continues to grow, we will have more people than ever coming to celebrate our children at Prizegiving. So, this year, we are going to hold this event in two parts so that we have plenty of room for everyone.

Admissions Class – 1st Class: 12:30 to 1:10pm
2rd – 6th Class: 1:20pm – 2:00pm

Class Tours
By now, you should all have received letters home about your child’s class tour. If you have any questions, please talk directly to your child’s teacher.

CNC Summer Camp – SOLD OUT!
All places in the CNC summer camp are now gone for both weeks (and we think the thrill of calling teachers by their first names is partly of the reason…!). Here’s to another great CNC summer camp!

Standardised Tests
The majority of children have completed their annual standardised tests. They all worked so hard and we are very proud of them. Anyone who was absent will be tested as soon as possible. The results for children from 1st – 6th class will be included in the end-of-year reports, which will be sent home the last week of June.

No Uniform Day
Thank you all for supporting our No Uniform Day so generously. Our school raised €379.10 for charity and it was great to see our children so supportive of others who are not as lucky as they are.

Finally…Our school will close for the summer break on Friday, June 29th at 12pm sharp. We re-open for all classes on Thursday, August 30th 2018. Our calendar for the 2018/2019 school year is available on our website.
