Active Week in Scoil Chaitríona

What a week is has been in Scoil Chaitríona. This week was Active Week in our school and boy have we been busy. Every morning, the senior classes partnered up with the junior classes and went on our ‘Mile with a Smile’ walk around the local area. Throughout the week the children got to experience all sorts of activities such as obstacle courses, rugby sessions, hip-hop dancing and yoga in Irish. However the event that everybody in our school was most interested in each day was the Class Challenge leaderboard. Each day, every class took part in a timed challenge, such as skipping challenges and volleyball challenges. Every class was competing against one another for the top 3 spaces on the leaderboard. To make things even more exciting, every teacher chose 2 students who showed great sportsmanship every day to compete against the staff in a daily challenge. Unfortunately for the staff, the children’s teams were too strong and we lost 3 out of 4 challenges over the week. The final leaderboard was announced today. In 3rd place was Mr Maher’s 5th class. In 2nd place was Ms Carolan’s 2nd and 3rd class and in 1st place was Ms Carolan’s 6th class. Well done everyone and a HUGE thank you to Ms Mahon, Ms Carolan and Ms Carolan for organised the week.
