Class  Tours

As we approach the last two months of the school year, the teachers have been very busy selecting and organising class trips…! These will take place on different dates in June – please keep an eye in the homework folders for more information from the class teachers.

CNC Summer Camp

It’s back for the first two weeks of the summer holidays! Application forms will be sent home soon. Please remember that places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Reminder: Standardised Testing Week

All classes will be sitting their annual standardised tests between May 21st – 24th. The results of these tests are submitted to the Department of Education & Skills and used by the school to determine who may need extra supports for the coming year. This requires a lot of organisation and co-ordination on the part of all teachers.

ALL children are tested. It can cause school-wide disruption if children who are absent on the day of their individual tests have to be accommodated at a later time. Therefore, it is vitally important that all children attend school that week.

No Uniform Day

On Thursday, May 17th, we will be having our annual No Uniform Day. This year, the children are raising funds for Our Lady’s Hospital for Children’s Hospital.   The suggested donation is €2 per child. All proceeds are going to a great cause so please give what you can.

Book Rental Fees 2018/2019

Book Rental fees for the coming school year are due in full by Wednesday, June 6th. This fee covers all books, photocopying, materials and other class resources for the year. If you do not pay these fees, we will not be able to order books or materials for your child in time for the first day of the new school year.  You can save a little every Friday morning between now and then with the Parents’ Association Saving club.

Attendance and Punctuality

Our Attendance strategy encourages all children to be ‘In School, On Time’ every day. However, if your child is absent from school for any reason, you must provide a written note to your child’s teacher when your child returns to school to explain the reason for the absence.

We are legally required to inform TUSLA, The Child and Family Agency if a child misses more than 20 school days in the school year, whatever the reason.

Please note that we also record any late arrivals and early collections. If your child’s teacher notices that your child is often late for school, he or she may ask to speak with you.
